Auto Accident Treatment

Dr. Bartel and the ASC Team are here for you after an auto accident! Many injuries do not manifest until days after a collision. Neck pain such as whiplash, or lower back pain can be debilitating. Muscle pain and stiffness can make it difficult to function normally. Auto accidents can leave you with physical and emotional damage. Our goal is to assist you in treating these injuries and providing support during the recovery process.

Don’t Miss the DEADLINE!!

Florida State Law requires you to see a medical professional within 14 days of a car accident to use Personal Injury Protection (PIP) from your insurance carrier. We are here to help and will assist with the completion of the necessary paperwork.

At Advanced Spinal Care, we offer a variety of treatments that not only help to reduce inflammation and pain but also help your body to recover more quickly. The impact of a car accident may cause misalignment in your spine. If left untreated, injured soft tissue can form into scar tissue. Trauma to discs can cause severe pain for years or even the rest of your life.

We can help car accident victims with the following treatments:

  • Medical Examination - Dr. Bartel will examine you to determine your range of motion, muscle tone and strength, and neurological symptoms. Although we take X-rays in the office, if you have already undergone testing and have copies of current X-rays, MRIs, or other medical records, please bring them to your appointment.
  • Digital X-Rays - We offer digital x-rays on-site which provide immediate images to determine the extent of your injuries in conjunction with your medical examination.
  • Adjustments - Dr. Bartel is a Palmer-trained chiropractor who practices on the cutting edge of the physical medicine field. He is a neuromusculoskeletal specialist who studied the Thompson Drop Table method, Activator, and extremity techniques and is proficient in the Gonstead and Diversified manipulation techniques, as well as clinical nutrition.
  • Interferential Electro-Therapy (IET) - provides an electrical current to help with muscle strains & spasms as well as ligament sprains. This therapy will increase blood flow to the injured area.
  • Spinal Decompression Therapy - is a non-invasive treatment to help relieve pressure on the spine. Traction is used to treat herniated discs, sciatica, disc degeneration, pinched nerves, and other conditions in the back and neck. The traction table stretches the spine to take pressure off compressed discs.
  • Therapeutic Ultrasound - is a method of stimulating tissue beneath the skin's surface using high-frequency sound waves. This therapy creates a massaging/heating effect on the injured tissues being worked on and promotes healing of the cells.
  • Hot/Cold Therapy - Heat is excellent at loosening muscles and tissues in tense areas, and cold works to decrease inflammation in tissues locally that may have experienced trauma or may be suffering from a pinched nerve.
  • Manual Therapy - The benefits of manual therapy after an accident are to reduce inflammation and increase oxygen and nutrients to the tissue. It also helps deactivate and eliminate trigger points, offer pain relief, relieve stress, improve circulation, and treat injuries such as muscle strains and pains.

The first step after an accident is to be proactive and seek professional chiropractic care. Then you can be confident that you are getting the proper treatment for your injuries.
